Nationalist funding hypocrisy exposed
Nationalists in Wales faced ridicule today after it was revealed that they were receiving the majority of its money for the Assembly campaign from England. The revelation came within minutes of Plaid Cymru calling on Welsh political parties to fight the Assembly campaign "using only finance, staff and resources from Wales". Plaid Cymru was left a legacy of £330,000 by Howel Vaughan Lewis, of south London, which it will use to bankroll its Assembly campaign.
Labour Mid and West Wales candidate ALUN DAVIES said: "Labour is proud to be a British party. We believe in the strength of the union and that Wales works best as part of the United Kingdom. "Plaid Cymru's hypocrisy has been exposed by this latest cheap publicity stunt. Before issuing press releases challenging political parties to use money directly from Wales, it should check the sources of its own funds. "The nationalists face ridicule for this stunt. It is dishonest behaviour from a party trying to pull the wool over the eyes of the people of Wales. "If Plaid Cymru feels so strongly about Welsh-raised finance then it should not have accepted the money it received from Mr Lewis."

Amazing – a Labour man complaining about the funding of other political parties & hypocrisy in the same post.
At the moment leading members of your party are being investigated for attracting huge amounts of political funding from dubious sources by means that might very well be illegal - & if recent reports are to be believed for actively hindering the investigation as well.
Pure as the un driven snow in matters of funding are we?
And then there’s the hypocrisy bit
Might it not be just a teeny weenie bit hypocritical for Hazel Blears, John Reid, Tessa Jowell, Jacqui Smith to protest against NHS cuts generated by the policy of their own government.
Or an education minister putting her child in a public school?
Or dear old John Prescott preaching the party about fidelity to Tony Blair?
Or Blair himself refusing to give up his long haul flights while his chancellor prepares to tax the hoi poloi for their short haul flights to Benidorm?
Or the New Labour bending the knee to a corrupt & odious Saudi Arabian dictatorship & calling off the Serious Fraud Office’s investigations to BAE’s arms dealings with that country, while claiming to fight for democracy, law & order in a nearby state.
Or Blair lecturing Bolivia & Venezuela about ‘responsible’ energy policy, while he himself has chronically destabilised what should be the world’s second biggest energy producer.
I could continue in this vein for hours, but I trust that you get the point.
Pot? Kettle? Black?
