"Battling Barry" joins campaign

It is always a great pleasure to welcome as large a character as Barry Jones, Lord Barry these days, to the campaign. He has so much experience to share of Labour politics and is an unashamed old fashioned campaigner. A pleasant days campaigning in Llanberis and here we are with the famous cup of tea at Pete's Eats in Llanberis.

So Martin, tell me why the people of Wales should vote for a London-based party who have seen inequality rise to its highest since 1961; entered an illegal war in Iraq; closed our schools and hospitals; wasted £85bn on Trident?

By Martin's own omission, Labour would prefer to let disaster befall Wales than to work in any team to stop it. Labour - cash for honours. Labour: party of lies, sleaze and spin. Labour: party of inequality and waste.

Labour: the party that closes schools and hospitals! The schools and hospitals that we all use, everyday! Labour: party of ruin.

Labour have run out of excuses for 8 years of failure in Cardiff, and 10 years of failure in Westminster. They refuse to discuss their record over the past years.

Why? It is a record of failing Wales. They have no new ideas, no new policies! The only reason they have to offer for keeping them in power is that they are not the Tories! Labour has created as much damage as their Conservative friends while in power. So I say that enough is enough. Labour has a duty to explain its record of failure.

This is like the film groundhog day and rather boring.

Martin, you may find it boring - I think that the people of Wales would be quite interested. I keep asking the same thing because you haven't offered any answers. I'll keep asking until you do.

Well, still no answer to the questions that voters want answered. But a nice picture of Martin enjoying his cuppa - all that tea-drinking is done while Rome is very much aflame. Wales deserves better than Labour.

And still silence. I know why. Martin, I think that you are an Old Labour, admirable Tony Benn type politician. And you are pained to be standing - yet again - for the sleazy, centre-right New Labour machine.

You know what horrors Blair has created. And you know what disasters Rhodri Morgan is responsible for. I think that your consience is troubled. This is why you refuse to answer my questions.

I think someone's slipped something in Cymro tea - or the lack of daylight (is there ever a minute he's not on here???) has gone to his head.

Anyway Llanberis has always been a fertile ground for Labour support so I'm sure you were welcomed in Petes Eats.

Its been a shining example of a local start up business in Llanberis that has gone from strength to strength and no wonder its got all the press coverage you can see its got on its sight.

But then business is not something Plaid is really keyed up on. I was amazed Martin to read your entry that Plaid Cymru had stopped the developments in Llanberis and Pwllheli.

Cymro says it was because it would kill the language.

What a short sighted view.

The biggest risk to Arfon and our language is the 100s of young adults forced to leave the area each year to find work. Yet Plaid Cymru sit round idly doing nothing to attract business to the area.

Kill the jobs. Kill the language. A lesson Plaid Cymru would do well to learn.

Ignore me as much as you like - allow other bloggers to abuse keep abusing me if you want to. I'm not giving up until I get an answer for the people of Wales.

Llanberis is home to many successful small businesses. But how do Labour reward them? By handing out false promises in Budget 2007. They say they will reduce corporation tax - which will only help the big businesses of London.

In all other cases, the tax burden for business rises. Labour: destroying business, education, health and language.
